A Very Firm Handshake: Confessions of a Charity CEO - Ted Hill

Ted Hill was born and raised in St Albans in Hertfordshire marrying Maggie in 1980. They have three daughters and seven grandchildren. Starting life working in research chemistry at ICI, Ted changed his career to the Third Sector spending over 40 years working at a senior level, mostly as CEO of local, regional and national charities. Ted holds an LLB(Hons) law degree and a Masters in Organisational Development from Middlesex University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH) and until his retirement was a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management (FInstLM). His own volunteering was with Sea Cadets where he was the Hertfordshire District Officer (SCC - RNR) before moving to Hamble Le Rice on the south coast of England in 2018. Ted was awarded an MBE for his work in the Third Sector in 2012. He retired in 2022 and now volunteers as boat crew and fundraiser for Wetwheels Hamble for which he is also Chair.
