Dharma Sutra - David Pugh
Having spent 30 years as a successful comic book illustrator, producing highly detailed and acclaimed pieces, all now sold, none of it compares with the level of creative satisfaction I've felt from the four novels which make up THE DHARMA SERIES. I quit the comics business in 2011, the constant deadlines were wearing me down. I'd saved enough money to go back to India and continue the voluntary work I had been doing before in the Tibetan refugee community in Dharamsala. When my visa expired I just kept travelling for the next five years. Nepal, South East Asia, Indonesia, back to Africa to renew friendships I'd cultivated since 2001. I kept journals all the time which I drew on as the basis of Dharma Sutra. The novel is pretty much semi-auto biographical, this video by my son-in-law, filmmaker, Michael Traverzo explains it very well...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wc9RNEdv-So
