Improving Writing Skills: Theory and Practice - Khalid Baghoussi
Khalid Baghoussi began his career as a secondary school English teacher in 1985. He worked as a head teacher for more than seventeen years. He participated in the professional training of primary school teachers and in numerous seminars, workshops and continuing education workshops organized for middle and secondary school teachers. He contributed to implementing the Competency-Based Approach (CBA) assisted by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in secondary education. In December 2005, he presented his first computer-assisted classroom demonstration to first-year high school students. In February 2007, he designed and presented a seminar on project pedagogy to many English teachers in Mostaganem district using ICTs. From 2008 to 2018, he participated in Teacher Professional Development training courses organized by the British Council and obtained some certificates. From 2001 to 2009, he worked as an associate teacher at Mostaganem University where he taught the writing techniques to first-year students. In 2009, he published the first edition of his book, Improving Writing Skills. From 2012 to 2022, he worked as a counsellor, coach and teacher trainer at the level of secondary school. During that period, he organized engaging and educational workshops on assessment, peer observation, error correction, 21st-century learning, active learning strategies, teacher versus learner centredness, planning and responding to learners' needs, project pedagogy and the competency-based approach. In February 2022, he collaborated with Dr Meriem Baghoussi, and they revised, edited, expanded and republished the new edition of his book, Improving Writing Skills: Theory and Practice.
