Last Train - Michael R. Kane
Michael R. Kane is an author, father, husband, teacher, and neurodivergence champion from Huntingdon, PA. He has been writing since 8th grade with the intention to one day be a published author. It took a lot of practice and training to get to the level this book is situated. The first few pieces he wrote were terrible, and some of the poetry was okay. He attended college at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania for Writing Studies… eventually. His first major was Pre-Law, and it changed several times before English became his final change. After graduation, he continued to write and find jobs that didn’t utilize his major at all. In order to feel fulfilled, he started the YouTube Channel “Mike Reads Stuff” (now called Lost in the Woods Productions), where he would do funny voices and read his poetry. Around that time, he met his forever love, Abigail. After dating for a few years, and adopting a few cats, Michael and Abigail got married. Ever the champion of pushing Michael to be his best self, she applied for him to attend Southern New Hampshire University for a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Meanwhile, Michael had been a news reporter, cashier, news reporter (again), car salesman, and then a mail man. And during this time, Michael and Abigail welcomed Jackson and then Patrick. Michael finally found his footing in teaching and has been doing that ever since. This novel was the master’s thesis from his tenure at SNHU, and is only the beginning of his published works.
