Rosemary Read Rooney was born in London. After marrying her husband, they moved with their children to Ireland where they bought a farm. They realized that country life was not for them, so after a few struggling years, they moved back to England, Essex, where she still lives. Rosemary had various jobs such as office work, a P .A. for a clothes shop, and a Photogenic Model. She also worked for British Gas in their Showrooms. After her father died, her mother discovered his birth certificate showing he was born in a Workhouse in Co. Waterford, Ireland, which inspired her to write this story.
