If you're seeking independent publishers to represent your work, then it can be difficult choosing the right one, particularly when considering all the business aspects of promoting a novel. With an abundance of choice available, it’s good to see companies like Red Door Press approaching things in a unique manner.

Despite giving high praise to the more traditional avenues of publishing, Red Door Press pride themselves on being a wholly new hybrid of two classic publishing business models. They represent writers and their work with the appropriate level of care and dedication found in any reputable traditional publisher. At the same time, authors are granted full freedom and control over the production and marketing of their own work, including the cost. This therefore makes for a securer and officiated version of what would normally be considered self-publishing.

The list of books Red Door Press have published is therefore small, as both writer and publisher achieve success only from works of exemplary standard, but the titles currently available are formidable to say the least. Whilst Red Door Press release only a few books every year, they give each project their full backing and attention. In the fictional department, they place great emphasis on works of general fiction, historical fiction, literary fiction, and crime & thriller. They also have an impressive range of non-fiction titles.

Authors of fiction include writer of the medieval Shadow of the Raven saga, Chris Bishop, who released the fourth volume, Bloodlines earlier this year, and author of acclaimed, family drama, How We Remember, J.M. Monaco. Red Door Press also champions the work of comedy writer and author of the quirky drama, The Spectacular Vision of Oskar Dunkelblik, Hattie Holden Edmunds. Other titles include the latest in Brian LandersDylan series, Exodus of Spies, and Amanda Weinberg’s emotional drama, The Tears of Monterini.

Red Door Press’ non-fiction section covers a range of categories, which includes memoirs, cookery, self-help, and business. In this field, they have acquisitions from purveyors of many different professions, including the biographer of poet and entertainer Clive James, Ian Shricore, prolific football scout and coach, Ted Buxton, and travelogue journalist, and author of Around the World in 80 Cigars, Nick Hammond

Other upcoming releases from Red Door Press include the second in Ilana Estelle’s thought-provoking journals on life with cerebral palsy, Spirituality, Healing & Me, which is due for release this coming July. Penny Bachelor’s pacy thriller on motherhood, Her New Best Friend, comes out in August this year, and Martin Granger’s suspenseful thriller, Out of Sight is also due for imminent release.

In considering all of the above, you may not be surprised to learn that Red Door Press will offer representation to only a few exceptional talents in the world of writing. But if you have something you would like considered, then visit their submissions section, and read the guidelines carefully!

With such a vast array of fiction, literature, and nonfiction titles on offer, readers currently unfamiliar with titles under the Red Door Press banner are in for an engaging and informative journey.
